To avoid making error meaning in sentences by omitting ” the” August 4, 2008

some students sometimes ignore the rules of using ” the ” in sentences

examples

she went to the school at 07.00 yesterday morning

( this means that she went to the school for another business)

she went to school at 07.00 yeterday morning

( this means that she went to  school  to study)

susi was in hopital

( this means that susi was being hopitalized)

susi was in the hospital

( this means that susi perhaps visited to the hospital for another business)

” remember that “the” is used for a particular thing”

if you want to say something generaly, you do not need to add “the”

example

I need a book ( you just need a book)

I need the book ( the book on the table )
